Health Minister Must End the Postcode Lottery

People power works!

Thanks to your support we are making great progress!

You can catch up on all that you have helped to make happen here.

We were delighted that the Health Minister recently announced £10 million for a Mental Health Support Fund, which should increase access to counselling and talking therapies.

This shows that he has heard our message loud and clear!

It’s a welcome first step towards fixing access to counselling.

We now need him to ensure that the 10-year Mental Health Strategy ends the post-code lottery and that no one waits longer than 28 days for an appointment.

This doesn’t just affect individuals seeking help.

It matters to our families, our friends and our communities.

It also matters to GPs, counsellors, mental health workers, community activists, politicians and many more who are concerned about improving mental health services.

All of us have a story to tell about counselling, whether it’s trying to access it for ourselves or support someone else to get the help they need.

Your experience is very valuable and can help us convince the Health Minister to do the right thing.

Which is why during Mental Health Awareness Week we are launching a website platform for people to share their stories.

We are inviting you to join us on Thursday 20th May at 12 noon for a walk through the website.

We also want to put our heads together to come up with more ways we can work together to end the counselling postcode lottery!
