Vivian McKinnon is the founder and owner of Hydro-ease, Northern Irelands only dedicated floatation center offering restricted environmental stimulation therapy. Formally known as sensory deprivation. She is also the founder of RAFT (Reconnection and Floatation Therapy) a highly effective approach to trauma recovery, Vivian specialises in trauma growth.
Qualified, accredited and highly skilled in many therapeutic applications, Vivian is also currently a student of Dr Gabor Mate with his Compassionate Inquiry approach
Vivian has recently made a film and after screening it at the MAC Belfast and the Waterside theatre in L’Derry she is now inviting community organizations to host screenings raising courageous conversations around trauma.
Originally from Scotland Vivian has a background in working with young people, predominately in homelessness then here in Northern Ireland with adults and young people in trauma and addiction.
In this short presentation Vivian will show her film followed by a Q&A. She will then introduce you to her RAFT approach and the findings of the 18-month evaluation of the project supported by referrals from EXTERN, VSS and WAVE Trauma centre.
